♦️ Correct answer – C ♦️
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 4986
Narrated Zaid bin Thabit:

Abu Bakr As-Siddiq sent for me when individuals of Yamama had been executed (ie, some of the Prophet's Companions who battled against Musailima). (I went to him) and discovered 'Umar canister Al-Khattab sitting with him. Abu Bakr at that point said (to me), "Umar has come to me and said:" Casualties were substantial among the Qurra 'of the Qur'an (ie the individuals who knew the Qur'an forwards and backwards) upon the arrival of the Battle of Yamama, and I am worried about the possibility that that all the more weighty setbacks may occur among the Qurra 'on different front lines, whereby an enormous piece of the Qur'an might be lost. Subsequently I recommend, you (Abu Bakr) request that the Qur'an be gathered. "I said to' Umar, "How might you accomplish something which Allah's Apostle didn't do?" Umar continued asking me to acknowledge his proposition until Allah opened my chest for it and I started to understand the positive qualities in the thought which 'Umar had figured it out. 'At that point Abu Bakr said (to me).' You are a savvy young fellow and we don't have any doubt about you, and you used to compose the Divine Inspiration for Allah's Messenger (ï·º). So you should look for (the fragmentary contents of) the Qur'an and gather it in one book. At that point I said to Abu Bakr, "How might you accomplish something which Allah's Messenger (ï·º) didn't do?" Abu Bakr answered, "By Allah, it is a decent undertaking." Abu Bakr continued asking me to acknowledge his thought until Allah opened my chest for what he had opened the chests of Abu Bakr and 'Umar. So I began searching for the Qur'an and gathering it based on (what was composed on) palme stalks, slender white stones and furthermore from the ones who knew it forwards and backwards, till I tracked down the last Verse of Surat at-Tauba (Repentance) With Abi Khuzaima Al-Ansari, and I didn't discover it with anyone other than him. It laments him that you ought to get any injury or trouble (till the finish of Surat-Baraa '(at-Tauba) (9.128-129). At that point the total compositions (duplicate) of the Qur'an stayed with Abu Bakr till he passed on, at that point with 'Umar till the finish of his life, and afterward with Hafsa, the girl of' Umar.
